About Me

Chinjutha (Aki) Thangtharnarkeat

Hello, my name is Aki. I grew up watching my mother painting with watercolors, and my grandmother knitting elaborate knits that intertwined together to create two deers nuzzled up against each other, or an adorable beanie for one of my baby cousins. As a young child, my mother encouraged me to create. She hung up my macaroni art. She praised me when I tried something new. She let me try ceramics, she encouraged me to participate in performing arts. This included musical camps, playing the cello, and public speaking. She had me keep a diary and praised my nonsensical poetry, little stories, and comic strips. We still have shelves full of projects from a decade ago. My family have fostered my life-long passion for the arts, and I aim to tell stories through my creations.
